As the President of Mustangs Merritt Island Sports Association, I want to thank you for your family’s involvement in our program for the upcoming season. As a previous coach and longtime volunteer, I understand the dedication it takes to prepare a team and a league for success. I appreciate your commitment to our organization and look forward to a great season ahead.
Our Legacy
Mustangs Merritt Island Sports Association has deep roots in our community. Originally established in 2000 as Merritt Island Sports Association (MISA) under Mid-Florida Pop Warner, we’ve proudly served this community for over 25 years. In 2022, we became Mustangs of Merritt Island Pop Warner. Then, in 2025, we returned to our roots and officially became Mustangs Merritt Island Sports Association, now competing in AYF & AYC, the world’s largest youth football and cheer organization and the official youth partner of the NFL.
In early 2021, our board introduced our current Mustang logo, featuring the letters “MI” subtly incorporated into the horse’s neck — a modern symbol with deep roots in our history. Today, we proudly use both the classic and current versions of our identity.
Our Mission
As a proud member of AYF/AYC, we are committed to the wholesome development of young athletes through mentorship, teamwork, and community engagement. We emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, and academic achievement while fostering leadership, confidence, and self-worth — values that extend beyond the field and into everyday life.

Volunteer with Us
We are 100% volunteer-based and rely on families to support our mission. From concessions to field setup and game-day operations, your involvement makes all the difference. Please step in and support when called upon — this league thrives because of you!
Practice and Safety
Due to Florida’s unpredictable weather, practices may be delayed or canceled quickly. All athletes must have immediate access to a parent or guardian during practice hours. Please coordinate with other parents if you’re unable to stay onsite.
Player Development and Game Play
Our coaches strive to balance player development with competitive play. Positions and playing time are determined by effort, skill, and team needs — all within AYF guidelines. Football requires role-specific development, and athletes are encouraged to master their assignments for both personal and team success.
